First-Gen Champion Joins Budo Accelerator's Board of Directors

Budo Accelerator is pleased to announce that Dr. La'Tonya (LT) Rease Miles, a seasoned professional with nearly 2 decades of experience creating programs and experiences for first-generation college students, has joined our Board of Directors. LT brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will be instrumental in helping the organization achieve its mission of empowering young people with backgrounds of adversity through a unique combination of martial arts, leadership, and career readiness training.

As a first-gen college graduate herself, LT understands the unique challenges that these students face, and has a passion for creating programs that support their academic, personal, and professional growth. LT’s previous experience includes serving as UCLA’s Executive Director of First Year Experience & Strategic Initiatives and as Chief Student Affairs Officer at Menlo College in the heart of Silicon Valley.  Currently, she is Director of University Partnerships at ReUp Education.

"Budo's mission and innovative approach are at the heart of what I do.  I am honored to join the Board and to contribute to its dynamic leadership team."
